about

Welsh harpist Amanda Whiting has very quickly established herself as an essential part of the UK jazz scene.

Touring extensively with her own band as well as with Matthew Halsall, Chip Wickham, DJ Yoda and Rebecca Vasmant, she endlessly delivers immense beauty and depth from the stage. Add to that two incredibly successful albums for the legendary Jazzman record label and a nomination for Instrumentalist of The Year at the Jazz FM awards and you get a picture of a hugely important talent.

As Amanda prepares to release her third solo album, Albert’s Favourites have partnered with her to release a collection of remixes from the beautiful Lost In Abstraction record.

The second remix on the EP comes from a UK legend. Over the years, Kaidi Tatham's musical prowess has graced numerous projects, from the likes of DJ Jazzy Jeff, Andrew Ashong, The Herbaliser and longtime accomplice, Dego, in addition to session and remix work for artists such as Mulatu Astatke, Slum Village, Marcos Valle, Amy Winehouse, Soul II Soul, Nubya Garcia, Cody Currie and Leroy Burgess, along with First Word label mates Eric Lau, Children of Zeus, Allysha Joy and Darkhouse Family.

It's no surprise that that fanbase includes a diverse set of peers such as Madlib ("ahead of his time"), Gilles Peterson ("a key part of an entire movement") and K15 ("a limitless source of inspiration") to name just a few of the many influenced by Kaidi's sound.
